  • Hey Biskoon community,

With all the buzz around AI search, GEO, AEO, and a growing alphabet soup of new acronyms, it's easy to feel like everything we knew about SEO is about to become obsolete.

But Google recently weighed in — and their message is reassuringly simple.

In a recent article, Brendon Kraham, VP of Search & Commerce Global Ads Solutions at Google, confirmed that AI-powered search features — including AI Mode and AI Overviews — still rely on the same core ranking systems that power traditional Search.

Here are four key takeaways from Google's guidance that I think every business owner and marketer in our community should know:

    1. Good SEO Is Still Good GEO

Google's existing systems — technical SEO, quality content, solid site architecture, and overall user experience — remain the foundation for visibility in AI search as well. There's no need to abandon proven practices in pursuit of fleeting AI hacks.

"Your existing investment in solid, foundational SEO is your launchpad for AI success. That's why good SEO is good GEO (or AEO, or AI SEO, or whatever)."

    2. Optimize for People, Not Bots

Google explicitly advises against writing awkward, keyword-stuffed copy or restructuring content into artificial snippets just to appeal to machines. Instead, the focus should be on answering real questions clearly, naturally, and helpfully.Content that works for people is still your best bet — for both traditional search and AI search.

    3. Share a Perspective Only You Can Offer

Generic content is easy to produce — and easy to overlook. Google recommends leaning into first-hand experience, internal expertise, unique insights, and real-world examples that competitors simply cannot replicate.Your unique expertise is your differentiator. Make sure it shines through on your website and across your marketing channels.

    4. Don't Neglect the On-Site Experience

Great content needs a great home. Google highlights the importance of mobile usability, fast loading pages, clearly structured main content, and relevant images or videos where they add genuine value.A strong technical foundation ensures that both users and AI systems can easily understand, trust, and cite your brand.

    My Takeaway

The takeaway for me is clear: instead of chasing the next shiny AI trend, doubling down on fundamental SEO best practices is the smartest move we can make right now. The algorithms may evolve, but the principles of quality content, user experience, and genuine value remain constant.

Would love to hear how others in the community are approaching AI search readiness. Are you making any changes to your strategy, or sticking with what works?

    Let's discuss!
