Biennale Architettura 2027 is the 20th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. The exhibition is open to the public from 8 May to 21 November 2027 in Venice, Italy.

The 2027 edition is curated by architects and educators Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu.

Do Architecture — For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality

The title of the Biennale Architettura 2027 is Do Architecture — For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality.

The exhibition explores architecture through the perspective of coexistence and the ways architectural practice can respond to contemporary realities and future possibilities.

International Architecture Exhibition

The 20th International Architecture Exhibition brings together the International Exhibition curated by Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu, National Participations and selected Collateral Events.

National Participations are presented through national pavilions and other approved exhibition venues, while selected Collateral Events form an associated section of the wider exhibition.

Giardini and Arsenale

The principal exhibition venues are the Giardini della Biennale and the Arsenale.

The 2027 exhibition also extends into other locations in Venice, including venues associated with National Participations and approved Collateral Events.

Curators

Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu are the curators and Artistic Directors responsible for the 20th International Architecture Exhibition.

They are architects and educators and founded Amateur Architecture Studio in 1997. Their work and educational background inform the architectural and pedagogical context of the 2027 exhibition.

Architecture, Sustainability and Coexistence

The 2027 exhibition provides a setting for exploring architecture, materials, construction, design, cities and the relationship between people and their built environments.

Sustainability and questions surrounding the relationship between architecture, resources, construction practices and coexistence are particularly relevant to the educational and professional context of the exhibition.

Educational Programmes

La Biennale di Venezia has confirmed an extensive Educational programme for 2027.

Activities are planned for individual visitors and groups including students, children, young people, adults, families, professionals, businesses and universities.

Educational activities are designed around active participation and include two principal formats: Guided Tours and Workshops.

National Participations

The exhibition includes National Participations by countries represented through official national pavilions and approved exhibition venues.

The national presentations form an important part of the wider International Architecture Exhibition and provide perspectives from different architectural and cultural contexts.

Biennale College Architettura

Biennale College Architettura is part of La Biennale's development and educational ecosystem for emerging practitioners. The 2026/2027 programme includes selected projects by emerging practitioners under the age of 30.
