Partici pants on both days will follow the same iconic 26.2-mile route through Lon don.\nA One-Off Two-Day Format\nThe 2027 Double is a special one-off chang e to the traditional London Marathon format. The event will take place acr oss Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April\, creating two days of marathon racing \, mass participation\, charity activity and community celebration.\nThe t wo-day format will not become the permanent annual format of the TCS Londo n Marathon. London Marathon Events describes the Double as a unique event for 2027 only.\nElite Race Schedule\nThe elite races are divided between t he two days of the Double.\n\nSaturday 24 April: Elite men's and elite men 's wheelchair races\, together with the male Championship and Good for Age races.\nSunday 25 April: Elite women's and elite women's wheelchair races \, together with the female Championship and Good for Age races.\n\nThe ma ss events on both days will include a mixed field of male\, female and non -binary participants.\nThe Marathon Route\nThe same iconic marathon route will be used on both days. The course starts in the Greenwich and Blackhea th area and continues through south-east and central London before reachin g the finish area in Westminster.\nParticipants pass major London landmark s and neighbourhoods along the 26.2-mile route\, creating a major citywide sporting and community experience.\n100\,000 Participants\nThe Double wil l welcome approximately 100\,000 participants across the two days\, making the 2027 edition substantially different from the traditional one-day for mat.\nParticipants will be allocated to either Saturday or Sunday and cann ot take part in the in-person marathon on both days.\nSport\, Charity and Community\nThe 2027 Double is designed as a citywide celebration of sport\ , charity and community. London Marathon Events is working with charities\ , community organisations\, schools and other partners as part of the wide r weekend.\nThe expanded event also provides additional opportunities for charitable fundraising and community participation across London.\nFamily and Community Activity\nThe wider 2027 Marathon Week includes activities d esigned to involve children\, families and communities. It forms part of the wider Marathon Week surrounding the Double.\nParticipation and Entry\nThe 2027 entry process includes seve ral established routes to participation\, including the ballot\, charity p laces\, Good for Age\, Championship\, British Athletics Clubs\, internatio nal participation and places for participants with disabilities.\nThe main 2027 ballot has already been drawn. Participants who were successful thro ugh the ballot were allocated an event day\, while additional charity and other entry opportunities may be available through official channels.\nMar athon Timing\nThe official 2027 information currently indicates that the S aturday event is likely to start at approximately 09:00\, while the Sunday event is likely to start at approximately 09:30.
